PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN SEBAGAI UPAYA MEMELIHARA KUALITAS HIDUP ORANG DENGAN HIV

Abstract


Abstrak: Kualitas hidup merupakan kunci bagi Orang dengan Human Immunodefciency Virus (ODHIV) untuk memiliki usia harapan hidup yang lebih lama. Asupan gizi seimbang, kepatuhan terapi ARV dan tidak memilik stigma diri dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup ODHIV. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan menurunkan stigma diri pada ODHIV. Pretest dan posttest dilakukan untuk melihat perubahan pengetahuan, sikap dan stigma diri. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan koordinasi dengan mitra yaitu KPA Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur untuk menentukan peserta dan jadwal kegiatan. Peserta kegiatan sebanyak 20 orang dengan HIV. Materi pengabdian yaitu pendidikan kesehatan yang terdiri atas materi sumber zat gizi, aktifitas fisik dan manfaatnya, pentingnya kepatuhan terapi ARV, Stigma diri dan Kesehatan mental. Metode pendidikan kesehatan yang dilakukan dengan ceramah dan diskusi. Dari hasil pendidikan kesehatan diperoleh peningkatan pengetahuan pada kategori baik sebesar 95%, sikap positif 90% dan penurunan stigma diri sebesar 95%. Dari hasi pendidikan kesehatan dapat terlihat bahwa ODHIV memiliki komitmen untuk memelihara dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup dengan konsumsi gizi seimbang, kepatuhan terapy ARV, serta tidak memberikan stigma diri.

Abstract: Quality of life is the key for people with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLHIV) to have a longer life expectancy. Balanced nutritional intake, adherence to ARV therapy and not having self-stigma can affect the quality of life for PLHIV. The purpose of this community service is to increase knowledge, attitudes and reduce self-stigma on PLHIV. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to see changes in knowledge, attitudes and self-stigmatism. This activity began with coordination with partners, namely the East Nusa Tenggara Province KPA to determine participants and schedule of activities. The service material is health education which consists of material sources of nutrients, physical activity and its benefits, the importance of adherence to ARV therapy, self-stigma and mental health. From the results of health education, it was obtained an increase in knowledge in the good category by 95%, a positive attitude by 90% and a decrease in self-stigmatism by 95%. From the results of health education it can be seen that PLHIV have a commitment to maintain and improve the quality of life by consuming balanced nutrition, adherence to ARV therapy, and not giving self-stigma.
