Abstract


Local microorganisms can be sourced from various local ingredients, including cow urine, banana stems, gamal leaves, fruits, stale rice, household waste, bamboo shoots, and elephant grass and can play a role in the process of managing livestock waste, both solid waste to be used as compost, and wastewater from livestock to be used as bio-urine (Sutari, 2010). The main problem faced by farmers is the lack of availability of fertilizers when entering the growing season. This is because the length of the process of making manure or compost takes 3-4 months until the fertilizer is ready for use. The latest technology, with the addition of EM-Lestari MOL, can reduce the length of time a manure or compost is made to just one month. This activity aims to provide training and knowledge on how to make EM-Lestari MOL, which can be used as a breakthrough to shorten the time of making manure and compost. The method of activities that used in this activity is through counseling and training directly in the field. The implementation of community service activities took place successfully and smoothly according to the plan. This community service activity is able to improve the ability of counseling participants especially about the technology of processing local fruit waste to be made effective by EM-Lestari Local Microorganisms.
