Soil Fertility and Agroecological Zone (AEZ) Analysis to Support Sustainable Agriculture
Abstract
Sustainability of agriculture is supported by fertile soils and ecological diversity. The research aims to determine the status of soil fertility and the division of agroecological zones, the status of soil fertility based on agroecological zones, limiting factors in the study area. The research refers to the quantitative descriptive method, the accuracy of soil sampling refers to a detailed level systematic grid model with a total of 40 soil samples. Primary data (soil fertility parameters) consist of soil pH, CEC, BS, c-organic, P2O5, K2O. Secondary data (agroecological zone parameters) consisted of administrative maps, land use maps, air temperature maps, rainfall maps, soil type maps. The research consisted of (1) determination of sample points, (2) analysis of soil samples in the soil laboratory, (3) data processing, map making with ArcGIS10.4. The results of the research resulted in 8 land types, S.I.a.x.1 (medium; >40%; thermal; udic; good drainage), S.II.a.x.1 (medium; 15-40%; thermal; udic; good drainage), S.III.a.x.1 (medium; 8-15%; thermal; udic; good drainage), S.IV.a.x.1 (medium; <8%; thermal; good drainage), T.I.a.x.1 (high; >40%; thermal; udic; good drainage), T.II.a.x.1 (high, 15-40%; thermal; udic; good drainage), T.III.a.x.1 (high; 8-15%; thermal; udic; good drainage), T.IV.a.x.1 (high, <8%; thermal; udic; good drainage). Limiting factors are soil pH, CEC, BS and P2O5 in some fields.
