Pengaruh Speed Reading Terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Membaca Siswa SMP
Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to examine the impact of speed reading techniques on the reading literacy skills of middle school students using a Systematic Literature Review approach. The literature sources are drawn from Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2014 to 2024. According to various research findings, speed reading techniques have consistently proven effective in improving students' reading speed and comprehension. Techniques such as scanning, chunking, skimming, and minimizing subvocalization have been successfully applied to enhance students' reading skills at different educational levels. Additionally, the use of digital tools and applications, such as digital books and Android-based eBooks, has shown a positive impact on students' reading motivation and skills. These findings underscore the importance of implementing speed reading methods and digital technology in education to enhance the reading literacy skills of middle school students. This research is expected to provide educators with guidance on selecting and implementing effective speed reading techniques and to encourage further research on the long-term impacts of these techniques at various educational levels.
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pengaruh teknik membaca cepat terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa SMP dengan menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review. Sumber literatur berasal dari pengindeks Scopus, DOAJ, dan Google Scholar dengan rentang tahun terbit 2014-2024. Berdasarkan hasil berbagai penelitian, teknik membaca cepat terbukti secara konsisten efektif dalam meningkatkan kecepatan dan pemahaman membaca siswa. Teknik-teknik seperti pemindaian, pemotongan, skimming, dan meminimalkan subvokalisasi telah berhasil diterapkan untuk memperbaiki keterampilan membaca siswa di berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Selain itu, penggunaan alat dan aplikasi digital, seperti buku digital dan eBook berbasis Android, juga menunjukkan dampak positif terhadap motivasi dan keterampilan membaca siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan metode membaca cepat serta teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa SMP. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan panduan bagi pendidik dalam memilih dan menerapkan teknik membaca cepat yang efektif serta mendorong penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai dampak jangka panjang teknik ini di berbagai jenjang pendidikan.
