Abstract


Abstract:  This research aims to enhance the addition and subtraction computational skills of third-grade students at SDN 1 Lenangguar through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, the study involved 24 students as research subjects. The results indicated a significant improvement from the pre-cycle (55%) to Cycle I (65%) and achieved excellent performance in Cycle II (81%). The PBL method proved to be effective in enhancing students' understanding of mathematical computational operations, providing positive implications for the development of mathematics teaching strategies at the Elementary School level, particularly in improving computational skills and overall mathematical concept comprehension.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada materi operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan siswa kelas 3 SDN 1 Lenangguar melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus, penelitian ini melibatkan 24 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dari pra-siklus (55%) ke siklus I (65%), dan mencapai prestasi yang sangat baik pada siklus II (81%). Metode PBL terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap operasi hitung matematika, dan hasil ini memberikan implikasi positif terhadap pengembangan strategi pembelajaran matematika di tingkat Sekolah Dasar, dengan fokus pada peningkatan keterampilan berhitung dan pemahaman konsep matematika secara menyeluruh.
