Peningkatan Literasi Media dan Informasi pada Lansia melalui Pengembangan Perpustakaan Desa Berbasis Inklusi Sosial

Abstract


Abstract: Digital literacy in Indonesia is still at the "medium" level so it still needs to be improved. In today's social environment of an aging population mixed with the presence of media technology in all its expressions, media literacy among the landmass is a priority. This Community Service activity aims to improve media and information literacy competencies for the elderly, who have been vulnerable to becoming targets of digital crime. The Sustainable Library of Bukit Peninjauan II Village, Bengkulu is struggling because there are not enough innovative ideas or Human Resources (HR) for the literacy program. Methods of carrying out the activities carried out are: the grant of 10 book packages on digital literacy, socialization, training and mentoring of good practices and wise media and information literacy. The results of village library operations such as adding book collections, inventorying, grouping volumes, and managing the library have been carried out in accordance with the plans and objectives that have been set. The results of the activity showed that the participants were quite enthusiastic and would share what they learned with their neighbors, family, and people in their immediate environment. This PPM activity is the first step towards cultivating an understanding of the importance of media literacy issues. Suggestions for the next activity is to further reach the limits of Livingstone's media literacy.


Abstrak: Literasi digital di Indonesia masih berada pada level “sedang” sehingga masih perlu ditingkatkan. Dalam lingkungan sosial saat ini dari populasi yang menua bercampur dengan kehadiran teknologi media dalam segala ekspresinya, maka literasi media di kalangan lansia adalah prioritas. Kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi literasi media dan informasi bagi lansia, yang selama ini rentan menjadi sasaran kejahatan digital. Perpustakaan Lestari Desa Bukit Peninjauan II, Bengkulu sedang berjuang karena tidak ada cukup ide inovatif atau Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) untuk program literasi, Metode Pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah: hibah 10 paket buku tentang digital literasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan praktik baik dan bijak literasi media dan informasi. Hasil kegiatan penyelenggaraan perpustakaan desa seperti penambahan koleksi buku, inventarisasi, pengelompokan jilid, dan pengelolaan perpustakaan telah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan rencana dan tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta cukup antusias, akan berbagi apa yang mereka pelajari kepada tetangga, keluarga, dan orang-orang di lingkungan terdekat mereka. Kegiatan PPM ini adalah sebagai langkah awal menuju penanaman (kultivasi) pemahaman pentingnya isu literasi media. Saran untuk kegiatan berikutnya adalah pencapaian yang lebih lanjut batasan literasi media Livingstone.
