Analisis Bibliometrik Tren Penelitian Artificial Intelligence dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Menggunakan VOSviewer

Kunti Nadiyah Salma

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Arabic language learning using a bibliometric approach assisted by VOSviewer. The study employed the Bibliometric-Systematic Literature Review (B-SLR) method, collecting scientific publications indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, and DOAJ, published between 2016 and 2025. Data were analyzed using keyword co-occurrence, network, overlay, and density visualizations to identify thematic clusters, dominant research topics, research evolution, and future research opportunities. The findings indicate that AI research in Arabic language learning has grown significantly, particularly after 2021, driven by the rapid development of generative AI technologies and digital learning innovations. Four major thematic clusters were identified, including intelligent learning systems, natural language processing for Arabic, AI-assisted language skills development, and adaptive learning technologies. The overlay visualization reveals a shift from technology adoption studies to investigations of personalized learning, generative AI, ChatGPT integration, and intelligent assessment. Meanwhile, density visualization indicates that topics such as AI ethics, teacher professional development, learning analytics, Arabic-speaking assessment, and AI-based curriculum development remain underexplored. This study provides a comprehensive overview of research development and offers a roadmap for future research on integrating Artificial Intelligence into Arabic language education to improve learning quality, personalization, and digital innovation.
