The Influence of Self-Efficacy dan Economic Motivation on the Interest in a Public Accounting Career Among Gen-Z Accounting Students in Surakarta City

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh efikasi diri dan motivasi ekonomi terhadap minat mahasiswa akuntansi Generasi Z di Kota Surakarta untuk berkarir sebagai akuntan publik. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan asosiatif kuantitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang diumumkan kepada mahasiswa akuntansi di tiga universitas di Surakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efikasi diri mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat berkarir di bidang akuntansi publik. Demikian pula, motivasi ekonomi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat berkarir, muncul sebagai faktor paling dominan dalam mendorong pilihan karir mahasiswa. Lebih lanjut, baik efikasi diri maupun motivasi ekonomi sekaligus mempengaruhi minat berkarir siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kepercayaan diri internal membantu mahasiswa menghadapi tuntutan profesi auditing, insentif finansial eksternal tetap menjadi pendorong utama bagi Generasi Z ketika memilih jalur karir di bidang akuntansi publik.
