ANALISIS KANDUNGAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA AIR MINUM DALAM KEMASAN (AMDK) DARI SUMBER MATA AIR GUNUNG PALUNG DI KECAMATAN SUKADANA
Abstract
Abstract: Bottled Drinking Water (BDW) has the potential to contain microplastics originating from raw water sources as well as from treatment processes, making it necessary to examine changes in their characteristics through to the final product. This study aimed to analyze the number, shape, color, and abundance of microplastics in raw water, water from the storage tank, and bottled drinking water sourced from the Gunung Palung spring in Sukadana District. The study consisted of three sample types, each analyzed in triplicate. Raw water samples were analyzed through organic matter degradation using the Wet Peroxide Oxidation method, density separation using NaCl, filtration with Whatman No. 42 filter paper, and microscopic observation. Water from the storage tank and bottled drinking water samples were directly subjected to filtration and microscopic observation. Microplastics were identified in all samples, with 126 particles in raw water, 330 particles in water from the storage tank, and 111 particles in bottled drinking water. The most dominant microplastic shape overall was film, with 268 particles, while the most dominant color was brown, with 236 particles. Microplastic abundance increased from 47.55 particles/L in raw water to 110 particles/L in water from the storage tank, then decreased to 24.67 particles/L in bottled drinking water. This pattern indicates changes in the number and characteristics of microplastics throughout the treatment process, with the highest abundance found in water from the storage tank and the lowest in the final bottled drinking water product.
