Workshop Art Activity : Mengatasi Kejenuhan pada Anak Pejuang Kanker melalui Stimulus Ekspresif Kreatif
Abstract
Abstract: Children with cancer living in a halfway house are prone to boredom due to limited activities, physical fatigue, and a monotonous routine during treatment. This community service program aims to reduce boredom levels, increase stimulation, and foster positive emotions among children battling cancer at the Lentera Pejuang Kanker halfway house. Participants included three children aged 6, 7, and 14 years. Methods employed included checklist notation observation, semi-structured interviews, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. Initial assessment results indicated that all subjects exhibited signs of boredom, such as loss of interest in activities, passive behavior, and reliance on gadgets. The intervention was conducted through a participatory, art-based approach over three days, featuring mask painting, making clay keychains, painting pots and planting flowers, canvas painting with the theme “Me in the Future,” and a presentation of all artwork. The program also included psychoeducation for parents regarding the importance of providing positive praise. Program results showed a decrease in boredom indicators, increased engagement in activities, reduced gadget use, and increased confidence in children’s ability to interact and speak in public.
Keywords
