Abstract

Abstract:  Water cycle education at the elementary school level often faces challenges due to abstract concept visualization, causing students to memorize text without understanding real-world environmental dynamics. This community service initiative aims to deliver interactive water cycle learning at SD N Bronggang Baru using a modern multimedia ecosystem. The program was carried out through technology implementation followed by mentoring and evaluation phases. The participants included 28 fifth-grade students and a companion teacher, utilizing the school’s multimedia room. The implemented multimedia ecosystem combines Google Veo AI-based animated videos, Google Gemini AI-based educational games, and a web GIS platform. The results demonstrate that integrating artificial intelligence and web GIS significantly boosts student enthusiasm and active classroom participation. The final evaluation shows clear progress in student comprehension; they are now able to fully understand hydrological processes while connecting atmospheric phenomena with field-level groundwater conditions. Furthermore, students' critical thinking skills were enhanced through their active involvement in formulating solutions to local environmental issues. This program recommends replicating similar applied community service projects to strengthen spatial and disaster literacy in primary education.
