Abstract

Abstract: Online gambling has emerged as a social pathology that negatively affects economic, psychological, educational, and social aspects of society. This study aims to formulate a social ethics model based on akhlakul karimah as a strategy to mitigate the impacts of online gambling through a literature review. The study employed a qualitative descriptive literature review of 26 scientific articles retrieved from Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, published between 2016 and 2026. The selected articles consisted of accredited national and reputable international journals discussing online gambling, character education, social ethics, and akhlakul karimah, while non-scientific, duplicate, and non-full-text articles were excluded. The findings indicate that character education, religiosity, financial literacy, family support, and community involvement function as protective factors against online gambling behavior. The review proposes a social ethics model based on the values of siddiq, amanah, qana'ah, and wara' as a conceptual framework that strengthens self-control, social responsibility, and moral resilience in preventing online gambling.
