PENDAMPINGAN DALAM PENINGKATAN PERILAKU HIDUP SEHAT PEDULI DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE II DAN PENCEGAHAN LUKA KAKI DIABETES DI PALEMBANG
Abstract
Abstrak: Diabetes mellitus adalah penyakit kronik yang dapat menimbulkan masalah fisik, ekonomi, dan kualitas hidup. Salah satu dari masalah fisik adalah komplikasi terjadinya gangguan pada kaki atau ulkus kaki. Kaki diabetes apabila tidak dirawat dengan baik akan mudah mengalami luka dan cepat berkembang menjadi komplikasi yang lebih buruk. Salah satu upaya pengelolaan kaki diabetes adalah dengan perawatan kaki diabetes. Perawatan kaki yang baik mengurangi risiko timbulnya gangguan sensorik pada kaki. Gangguan sensorik pada kaki dapat memicu terjadinya komplikasi kaki yaitu neuropati. Pasien memerlukan peningkatan pemahaman tentang penyakit dan perawatannya. Pemberian edukasi pada masyarakat di daerah binaan tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan sebesar 64% pada kondisi pra dan post test. Peningkatan juga dialami pada kondisi kaki yang menjadi lebih baik setelah melakukan perawatan kaki sesuai dengan arahan dari tim PKM. yang memperlihatkan upaya penyuluhan dapat dikatakan berhasil dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat. Keberhasilan tersebut harus dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan serta dilakukan evaluasi kondisi kaki dengan menggunakan ankle brachial index.
Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is chronic disease which can impact physic, economic, and quality of life among diabetic patients. One of diabetic complication is foot problem as known like foot ulcer. Diabetic patient need to care their foot, because ulcer can complicate to amputation. Foot care can reduce ulcer complication, increase awareness of foot, and reduce risk for sensoric sensation decrease and neurophaty among diabetic patients. Patients need education, so they know how to do foot care by themselves. This study can increase knowledge of patient 64% and also enhance foot condition of patient after given foot care. In future study can use ankle brachial index to examine patient’s foot
