SOSIALISASI KUALITAS LINGKUNGAN GEOPARK TAMBORA MELALUI KONSEP PELAYANAN EKOSISTEM (ECOSYSTEM SERVICES)
Abstract
Ekosistem menyediakan berbagai jenis pelayanan mendasar bagi kesejahteraan manusia seperti menunjang kesehatan, kehidupan, dan kebudayaan. Pelestarian kualitas ekosistem menjadi hal yang harus dilakukan oleh semua stakeholder agar kualitas lingkungan terjaga, dengan demikian sosialisasi akan pentingnya menjaga ekosistem patut dilakukan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan di Desa Piong Kecamatan Sanggar Kabupaten Bima yang merupakan bagian dari Geopark Tambora dan merupakan salah satu daerah yang memiliki keragaman ekosistem. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi fungsi pelayanan ekosistem (ecosystem services) di Geopark Tambora Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat khususnya di Desa Piong. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan melakukan sosialisasi, wawancara dengan beberapa stakehoders dan kunjungan ke geo-site Tambora. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kondisi pelayanan ekosistem (penyedia kebutuhan, pengatur, dan kebudayaan) di Desa Piong masih terjaga namun demikian mulai masifnya penanaman jagung di lahan dengan kemiringan tinggi akan menjadi salah satu faktor penurunan kualitas lingkungan dan pelayanan ekosistem di masa mendatang.
ABSTRACT
Ecosystem provides various of basic services for human wealth such as health, life, and culture support. Conservation of ecosystem quality is a mandatory to be protected by all stakeholders for better environmental quality. The community services were conducted at Piong Village Sanggar Sub-district Bima Regency that part of Tambora Geopark and has ecosystem biodiversity. This paper is aimed to identify the ecosystem services at Piong Village Geopark Tambora West Nusa Tenggara Province. The methods applied were socialization, interview with some stakeholders, and site visit. The results indicate that the ecosystems at Piong Village provide their regular services (provisioning, regulating, cultural services) in a proper condition, however, the massive maize plantation in the sloping area could be one of the factors that triggering the environmental quality and ecosystem services degradation in the future.
