Implementasi Kegiatan Literasi Dalam Pembentukan Karakter Peserta Didik

Abstract


Abstract: This study aims to thoroughly investigate and systematically analyze the existing literature on the implementation of literacy activities in shaping students' character. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review with a qualitative approach, aiming to identify best practices, effective strategies, and relevant outcomes of using literacy activities to build character in educational settings. Literature was obtained from academic databases such as Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar, using keywords like "implementation of literacy activities," "character development in students," and "character education." The literature selection process involved reviewing titles, abstracts, and keywords, adhering to established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Relevant data were then extracted, organized, and systematically analyzed. The findings indicate that literacy activities in schools have a significant impact on shaping students' character across various educational levels. Literacy programs such as routine reading, Qur'anic literacy, and writing competitions not only enhance reading skills but also instill values such as responsibility, discipline, curiosity, and honesty. However, there are several gaps to address, including the lack of engaging and relevant reading materials, uneven teacher capability in integrating literacy and character education, and low parental and community participation in supporting school literacy programs. This study provides significant contributions to understanding best practices in character education through literacy activities.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki secara mendalam dan menganalisis secara sistematis literatur yang ada mengenai implementasi kegiatan literasi dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi praktik terbaik, strategi efektif, serta hasil yang relevan dari penggunaan kegiatan literasi dalam membangun karakter siswa di lingkungan pendidikan. Literatur diperoleh melalui basis data akademik seperti Scopus, DOAJ, dan Google Scholar, menggunakan kata kunci seperti "implementasi kegiatan literasi", "pembentukan karakter siswa", dan "pendidikan karakter". Proses seleksi literatur dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan judul, abstrak, dan kata kunci, sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang ditetapkan. Data yang relevan kemudian diekstraksi, disusun, dan dianalisis secara sistematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan literasi di lingkungan sekolah memiliki dampak signifikan dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik di berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Program literasi seperti membaca rutin, literasi Al-Quran, dan kompetisi menulis tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan membaca tetapi juga menanamkan nilai-nilai seperti tanggung jawab, disiplin, rasa ingin tahu, dan kejujuran. Namun, terdapat beberapa kesenjangan seperti kurangnya bahan bacaan yang relevan, kemampuan guru yang belum merata dalam mengintegrasikan literasi dan pendidikan karakter, serta rendahnya partisipasi orang tua dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pemahaman praktik terbaik pendidikan karakter melalui kegiatan literasi.
