PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DASAR BERBASIS PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS MELALUI PERMAINAN OUTDOOR DAN INDOOR

Abstract


Abstrak: Untuk memudahkan generasi kita menyikapi tantangan di era sekarang, metode belajar bahasa Inggris yang tersedia menjadi beragam seperti melalui video, musik, games dan masih banyak lagi. Namun, bagi siswa/i di SDN 07 Sungai Duren Kecamatan Muara Enim, kegiatan belajar berbahasa inggris masih terbatas yang dilatarbelakangi permasalahan meliputi keterbatasan media pembelajaran, guru kurang inovatif dalam metode pengajaran, permainan di luar ruangan yang terbatas, anak tidak dapat bergerak bebas, terhambatnya perkembangan kepribadian anak. Tujuan diadakannya kegiatan ini ialah membantu meningkatkan minat belajar Peserta Didik khususnya dibidang Bahasa Inggris, membantu pembentukan karakter Peserta didik dengan kegiatan-kegiatan fun, meningkatkan sensorik dan motorik peserta didik melalui kegiatan yang disediakan oleh penulis ketika mengajar di SDN 07 Sungai Duren selama 2 hari ini (27-28 Juli 2023) menargetkan peserta didik kelas VI berjumlah 15 orang dengan 3 metode berupa ceramah, simulasi dan diskusi. Hasil dari pelaksanaannya adalah keseluruhan merasa bahwa kegiatan ini sangat menarik dan sangat membantu Peserta dalam meningkatkan jiwa kepemimpinan, kejujuran, kekompakan, hingga keberanian mereka dengan persentase peningkatan signifikan yakni mencapai lebih dari 80% yang diukur dengan kuisioner tertutup.

Abstract: To make it easier for our generation in respond to this current era, the available of English learning methods are diverse such as through videos, music, games and many more. However, for students at SDN 07 Sungai Duren, Muara Enim District, English learning activities are still limited. In addition, the author's activities are also motivated by the problems identified which include (1) the involvement of learning media, (2) the lack of innovation by teachers in providing teaching methods, (3) outdoor activities are limited caused of the play space and media, (4) Inhibition of Children's character. The purpose of holding this activity is to help increase the interest in learning of students, especially in the field of English, help build the character of students with fun activities, improve sensory and motor students through activities provided by the author while teaching at SDN 07 Sungai Duren The activity which was held for 2 days (27-28 July 2023) targeted grade VI students with a total of 15 people. The results of the implementation of character building based on English language learning through Outdoor and Indoor games are that all students feel that this activity is very interesting and helps the students to improve their leadership skill, integrity, solidarity, up to their bravery.
