PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA

Abstract


Abstrak: Para guru di SMP Ganesa Satria terbiasa menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional dalam kegiatan mengajar. Di sisi lain, mereka menggunakan media sosial untuk sekadar bagian dari gaya hidup sehari-hari. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan media sosial seperti Facebook, Instagram, dan YouTube sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif. Media sosial dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memperkaya dan melengkapi proses pembelajaran media konvensional yang sudah lazim digunakan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas dan kreativitas guru dalam mengajar khususnya dengan menggunakan media sosial sebagai media pembelajaran. Setelah adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, guru dapat mengefektifkan media sosial yang dimiliki guru tidak hanya sebagai gaya hidup namun juga dapat menunjang karir guru khususnya dalam pembelajaran. Guru dapat mengetahui sarana dan fasilitas yang terdapat di Facebook, Instagram dan YouTube. Penggunaan media sosial ini dimanfaatkan guru dengan membuat video dan grup mata pelajaran yang dapat diakses melalui internet. Guru pada akhirnya memiliki grup mata pelajaran di Facebook, dapat mempublikasikan kegiatan mengajar melalui YouTube yang dapat diakses oleh guru-guru lainnya, peserta didik maupun masyarakat luas.

Abstract: The teachers at SMP Ganesa Satria is used to use the conventional learning media in teaching activities. On the other side, they use social media only for daily lifestyle. This PKM activity is aimed at introducing the social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as an alternative learning media. Social media is useful to enrich and complement the conventional learning media that is commonly used in this school. The results of the activities showed improvement in the quality and creativity of teachers in teaching especially by using social media as a learning medium. After this community devotion activity, teachers can effectively effective social media that teachers have not only as a lifestyle but can also support the teacher's career, especially in learning. Teachers can find out the tools and facilities found on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The use of social media is utilized by teachers by making videos and subject groups that can be accessed through the Internet. The teacher ultimately has a subject group on Facebook, able to publish teaching activities through YouTube that can be accessed by other teachers, students, and the wider community.
