Abstract

Abstrak: Air Susu Ibu (ASI) eksklusif merupakan salah satu praktik kesehatan ibu dan anak yang berperan penting dalam mendukung pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan ketahanan tubuh bayi pada enam bulan pertama kehidupan. Salah satu kendala yang sering dialami ibu menyusui adalah kekhawatiran terhadap kecukupan dan kelancaran produksi ASI. Kekhawatiran tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya pengetahuan tentang proses laktasi, teknik menyusui yang kurang tepat, jarang menyusui, stres, kelelahan, kurang dukungan keluarga, serta paparan informasi yang keliru mengenai susu formula. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu menyusui tentang peningkatan produksi ASI melalui edukasi kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah edukasi kesehatan dengan desain pre-test dan post-test pada 19 ibu menyusui di Desa Pongangan, Kecamatan Manyar. Media edukasi meliputi presentasi, leaflet serta praktik pijat oksitosin. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan ibu menyusui, dimana kategori pengetahuan baik meningkat dari 21,1% pada pre-test menjadi 42,1% pada post-test. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah edukasi kesehatan efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu menyusui tentang peningkatan produksi ASI. Diharapkan kegiatan serupa dapat dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dengan melibatkan keluarga dan kader kesehatan.

Abstract: Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the important maternal and child health practices that supports infant growth, development, and immunity during the first six months of life. One of the common problems experienced by breastfeeding mothers is concern about the adequacy and smooth production of breast milk. This concern may be influenced by limited knowledge of the lactation process, improper breastfeeding techniques, infrequent breastfeeding, stress, fatigue, lack of family support, and exposure to misleading information about formula milk. This community service activity aimed to improve breastfeeding mothers’ knowledge about increasing breast milk production through health education. The method used was health education with a pre-test and post-test design involving 19 breastfeeding mothers in Pongangan Village, Manyar District. The educational media included presentations, leaflets, and oxytocin massage practice. The results showed an increase in the knowledge level of breastfeeding mothers, where the good knowledge category increased from 21.1% in the pre-test to 42.1% in the post-test. The conclusion of this activity is that health education is effective in improving breastfeeding mothers’ knowledge about increasing breast milk production. It is expected that similar activities can be carried out continuously by involving families and health cadres.
