IMPLEMENTATION OF ONE SEARCH LIBRARY PORTAL USING FUVIND FRAMEWORK TO IMPROVE ACCESS AND UTILIZATION OF LIBRARY COLLECTIONS

Abstract

The development of digital libraries requires integrated information retrieval services to overcome the fragmentation of information resources distributed across multiple platforms. This study analyzes the implementation of a One Search Library Portal using the FuVind Framework at the library of Universitas Lancang Kuning, Pekanbaru, and its effect on improving access to and utilization of digital library collections. The novelty of this study lies in examining the FuVind Framework implementation, which has not previously been studied in the context of Indonesian digital libraries, using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design that integrates quantitative impact measurement with qualitative exploration. Quantitative data were collected from 150 respondents through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-tests, and simple linear regression, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings show that the FuVind-based One Search Library Portal received highly positive user perceptions (mean score of 4.27) and significantly improved all collection-access indicators, including portal visits, collection searches, collection access, and digital document downloads. Inferential analysis confirmed that the system implementation had a positive and significant effect on collection utilization. These findings suggest that the FuVind Framework is an effective discovery service solution for enhancing information accessibility and collection utilization in digital libraries, particularly within the context of Indonesian higher education libraries.
