Implementasi manajemen mutu terpadu (TQM) dalam pendidikan islam: tinjauan literatur sistematis terhadap strategi peningkatan kualitas lembaga

Abstract


This study aims to systematically examine the strategies for implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve the quality of Islamic educational institutions using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The literature sources were derived from reputable databases such as Scopus, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and Google Scholar, covering publications from the last ten years (2015–2025). The analysis reveals that TQM implementation in Islamic educational settings is not merely normative or administrative but has been internalized within the framework of fundamental Islamic values, such as amanah (trust), shura (consultation), and islah (continuous improvement). Core TQM principles—customer focus, continuous improvement, and total participation—are contextually adapted according to the institutional type, whether pesantren, madrasah, integrated Islamic schools, or Islamic higher education institutions. The findings indicate that the success of TQM implementation is influenced by the integration of spiritual values, transformational leadership, and a sustained commitment to evaluation and innovation. This study recommends the development of an Islamic value-based TQM model to strengthen internal quality assurance systems in a sustainable and context-sensitive manner within Islamic educational institutions.
