Aisyah Astinadia Siregar

Abstract

The creative economy has become a strategic driver of national economic growth, especially in the era of digitalization and globalization. However, communities in potential areas such as tourist villages still face challenges, including limited skills, lack of market access, and low digital technology adoption. The Ngecobar Bersama Gayatri program is a collaborative and creative initiative aimed at empowering local communities in Pantai Kembar, Kebumen. The program seeks to build community capacity in managing local potential and developing high-value products and services rooted in culture and tourism. Using methods such as observation, education, training, and mentoring, the program helps participants create creative economy products like handicrafts, culinary goods, art, and tourism services. The outcomes of the program include increased community participation, the creation of new creative products, and support from local government and partners. It also fosters innovation, self-reliance, and collaboration, laying the groundwork for a sustainable and inclusive community-based tourism ecosystem. With proper strategies and multi-stakeholder collaboration, local challenges can be turned into development opportunities. This initiative shows that creative empowerment at the grassroots level can significantly contribute to economic resilience and the sustainable growth of tourism rooted in local wisdom.
