Abstract

Abstract:  Adolescent mental health promotion is important because students face emotional, social, and academic demands while developing their identity and making educational decisions. This community service activity aimed to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of mental health, emotional regulation, strategies for responding to parental expectations, and resilience in learning according to personal interests. The activity was conducted face-to-face with 350 Grade X students at SMAN 7 Semarang. The implementation comprised three thematic sessions delivered through presentations and question-and-answer discussions. A pretest and posttest were used to evaluate changes in participants’ knowledge. The available evaluation summary reported a 21.2% increase in knowledge and a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (reported significance value 0.000; conventionally reported as p < 0.001). Because the underlying score table, descriptive statistics, test statistic, degrees of freedom, and effect size were not available in the materials provided, these results should be interpreted as a summary of the activity evaluation rather than a complete statistical report. The activity indicates the potential usefulness of school-based psychoeducation for strengthening mental health literacy. Further activities should include practical exercises, follow-up evaluation, and referral information for students who need additional support.
