RACIK SEHAT: Model Pemberdayaan PKK Berbasis Edukasi Partisipatif dan Praktik Pemanfaatan Seledri sebagai Media Pencegahan Hipertensi
Abstract
Abstract: Background: Hypertension was identified as a priority health problem in Loa Raya Village, with 23 of 88 household heads (26.14%) recorded as having hypertension. Objective: To improve knowledge and provide practical experience for PKK members in using celery as an educational medium for hypertension prevention. Methods: A participatory workshop with 13 PKK members combined education, demonstration, discussion, and hands-on preparation of celery juice and herbal drinks. Knowledge was assessed using 10-item pre- and post-tests; data were analyzed descriptively and followed by the Wilcoxon test after Shapiro-Wilk normality testing. Results: The mean score increased from 60.38 to 83.08, a 22.70-point difference or 37.6% relative increase (p=0.001). All participants completed the activity sequence and performed the practical steps with facilitator assistance. Conclusion: ACIK SEHAT demonstrates positive initial educational outcomes through planning based on local needs, the engagement of PKK as an empowerment partner, and practice-based learning. The program has the potential to be developed into a model for community health education, although further evaluation is required to assess the sustainability of knowledge, behavioral changes, and health outcomes.
