Analisis Tingkat Kebisingan Terputus-Putus Akibat Lalu Lintas di Ruas Jalan Prabu

Abstract

The NTB Provincial General Hospital (RSUP) is the highest-level referral hospital in West Nusa Tenggara, with the main entrance to its Emergency Department located on Prabu Rangkasari Street in Mataram City. The high volume of light and heavy vehicle traffic on this road has the potential to generate noise levels that exceed the hospital area quality standards set forth in the Decree of the Minister of the Environment No. 48 of 1996, namely 55 dB(A) with a tolerance of +3 dB(A). This study aims to determine the compliance of existing noise levels with hospital zone noise quality standards and to identify a mathematical model for predicting noise resulting from vehicle traffic volume. Measurements were taken using a General Purpose Sound Level Meter for 12 hours per day on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday (July 11–14, 2026) in front of the Emergency Department of NTB General Hospital and analyzed using the cumulative distribution curve (L95) method and simple linear regression against vehicle volume data obtained from traffic counts. The results showed that the equivalent noise level (5-minute Leq) varied between 66.4 and 84.9 dB(A) during peak hours, with representative values (L95) of 70 dB(A) on Saturday, 75.5 dB(A) on Monday, and 74.5 dB(A) on Tuesday—far exceeding the maximum quality standard of 58 dB(A). A simple linear regression analysis between vehicle volume (X) and noise level (Y) yielded the equation Y = 0.0135X + 67.571 with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.084, indicating that vehicle volume contributes only about 1% is attributable to noise variations, while the remaining 99% is influenced by other factors such as residential and commercial activities in the vicinity of the site. It was concluded that the existing traffic noise levels on the Prabu Rangkasari Road section do not meet the required quality standards and have the potential to disrupt the comfort and recovery process of patients at the NTB General Hospital.
