Peran Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Literasi dan Numerasi Siswa di SMPN 6 Kota Mataram
Abstract
Program literasi dan numerasi merupakan salah satu program penting yang diluncurkan oleh kemendikbudristek melalui kegiatan kampus mengajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa di SMPN 6 Kota Mataram. Temuan/inovasi yang ditargetkan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Adapun lokasi penelitian yaitu di SMPN 6 Mataram. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan diskriptif. Kemudian tekhnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi sedangkan Teknik analisi data adalah dengan tahap reduksi data, tahap penyajian data dan tahap penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini tentang peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa di SMPN 6 Mataram adalah Penataan Pojok Baca, Jam Tambahan Calistung, Permainan Matematika, Penataan Lingkungan Kaya Teks, Mendongeng Bersama, dan Kegiatan Moving Class. Sedangkan Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan program literasi dan numerasi siswa di sekolah antara lain semangat guru dalam menjalankan program serta dukungan kepala sekolah yang berkomitmen tinggi dalam menjalankan program penguatan literasi dan numerasi. Kemudian Faktor penghambat pelaksanaannya antara lain adalah kurangnya sarana prasarana yang ada di sekolah serta kurangnya minat baca di kalangan siswa itu sendiri.
The literacy and numeracy program is one of the important programs launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the campus teaching activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the principal in improving student literacy and numeracy at SMPN 6 Mataram City. The findings/innovations targeted in this study were to determine the role of the principal in improving student literacy and numeracy. The location of the study was at SMPN 6 Mataram. The research method used by the author is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Then the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation while the data analysis technique is with the data reduction stage, data presentation stage and conclusion drawing stage. The results of this study on the role of the principal in improving student literacy and numeracy at SMPN 6 Mataram are the Arrangement of Reading Corners, Additional Reading, Writing and Arithmetic Hours, Mathematics Games, Arrangement of Text-Rich Environments, Joint Storytelling, and Moving Class Activities. Meanwhile, the supporting factors for the implementation of student literacy and numeracy programs in schools include the enthusiasm of teachers in running the program and the support of the principal who is highly committed to running the literacy and numeracy strengthening program. Then the inhibiting factors for its implementation include the lack of facilities and infrastructure in schools and the lack of interest in reading among the students themselves
