PENINGKATAN KAPASITAS PENDAMPING DALAM DETEKSI DINI MASALAH KESEHATAN MENTAL MAHASISWA UNIRES UMY

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Unires UMY didirikan untuk membentuk karakter lulusan yang kompeten dan berakhlaqul karimah. Program ini ditawarkan kepada mahasiswa baru selama 1 tahun pertama. Pendampingan diberikan melalui senior resident (SR) dan asisten senior resident (ASR). Terdapat beberapa kasus mahasiswa yang tidak mampu melakukan adaptasi secara baik, bahkan sampai adanya tanda masalah kesehatan. Kemampuan pendampingan yang baik sangat diperlukan oleh SR dan ASR. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan mengadakan upaya peningkatan kapasitas SR dan ASR dalam mendeteksi secara dini adanya gangguan kesehatan mental dan melakukan pendekatan teman sebaya. Upaya pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dengan peserta 38 orang dan 20 orang telah mengikuti pre dan post test dengan hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor baik untuk pelatihan pendampingan teman sebaya maupun pendeteksian masalah mental. Untuk yang pertama, dari 20 peserta yang mengisi pre dan post nilai meningkat pada 14 peserta dengan 5 peserta tidak mengalami perubahan dan 1  peserta mengalami penurunan post test. Sementara, untuk pendeteksian masalah mental, didapatkan peningkatan rat-rata nilai dari 73,94 menjadi 85,36. Selain itu, dari kesan dan pesan peserta didapatkan persepsi yang positif atas pelaksanaan pelatihan ini. Sedangkan koneksi internet dan waktu di hari kerja pelaksanaan menjadi keluhan yang mengganggu. Kesimpulan: peningkatan kapasitas dalam hal konseling dan deteksi dini dapat diperoleh melalui pelatihan.

ABSTRACT

Unires UMY was established to build a competent graduates with a good Islamic characteristics. This program was offered to new students in the first year with supervision from the senior residents (SR) and tha assistant of senior residents (ASR). Despite the progress of the program several cases of mental health problems have arisen. This community empowerment program was aimed to increase the capacity the SR and ASR in early detection of any mental health problem and conducting a peer assistance program. An online training was held to 38 participants and 20 had completed the pre and post test. Fourteen out of 20 showed increasing score for the peer assistance program, and the average score was increasing in the early detection training test, from 73.94 to 85.36. Several encouraging comments were retrieved from the participants, addressing that the training has been positively influenced them. While, internet connection and the execution time of the program was regarded as the minor downside of th program. Conclusion: capacity building can be achieved by conducting a training in peer counceling and early detection in mental health.
