Abstract

ABSTRACT

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 is becoming a major problem globally with increasing cases occurring at all ages. So that the understanding and implementation of PHBS (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior) in school students really needs to be improved during the process of adapting new habits. Due to the significant increase in the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 patients in the prevalence of the first and second waves in the middle of 2021.This also happened to children who were in the school age group. Moreover, schools have imposed limiled face-to-face learning (PTMT) for student. The method of this activity has been carried out is counseling about the importance of PHBS during thr COVID-19 pandemic. This community service activity aims to provide education and increase student’s understanding of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) so that it can prevent the spread of COVID-19. The community service was attended by 29 students with an age range of 13-16 years old. In this counseling, pretest and posttest were given to measure the level of understanding. Pretest to measure the knowledge of respondents before being given education. Posttest to measure the understanding of respondents after being given education related to PHBS. The counseling activities at SMPN 1 Singosari went well where the student’s understanding increased from 76.9% to 83.79%. PHBS counseling during the COVID-19 pandemic among junior high school students is important to prevent the spread and reduce the prevalence of COVID-19.
