DETEKSI DINI MASALAH KESEHATAN GIGI PADA REMAJA SMKN 1 NGASEM BERBASIS INDIKASI PEMERIKSAAN RADIOGRAFI
Abstract
Abstract: The prevalence of oral health problems among Indonesian adolescents is on the rise. This study aims to identify oral health issues in adolescents, specifically dental caries and malocclusion, and to provide follow-up recommendations based on radiographic findings. The method of implementation included a preparation stage, clinical dental and oral examinations, recording of examination results, dental health education, and evaluation of results to determine referral needs. The activity was held in the SMKN 1 Ngasem Auditorium on May 26, 2026, with 71 participants aged 15 to 19 years. Results of the examination showed that participants had various levels of dental caries categorized as very low (17 participants), low (17 participants), moderate (13 participants), high (15 participants), and very high (9 participants). Malocclusion screening also revealed Class I in 32 participants, Class II in 28 participants, and Class III in 11 participants. Participants with moderate to high caries and Class II and III malocclusion were recommended to undergo radiographic examinations based on clinical indications. This program helps adolescents understand the condition of their teeth and mouth and raises awareness of oral health through regular screenings.
