Pendampingan pembuatan preparat biologi berbahan sederhana sebagai sarana peningkatan kompetensi guru IPA

Peran guru IPA sangat penting dalam pencapaian kompetensi sains peserta didik. Kompetensi ini berkaitan erat dengan cara belajar peserta didik dalam kelas mata pelajaran IPA. Salah satu cara belajar yang menunjang kompetensi dimaksud adalah melalui kegiatan praktikum. Kegiatan praktikum dapat berjalan apabila guru menguasai dengan baik keterampilan-keterampilan dasar praktikum termasuk keterampilan laboratoris mikroteknik. Tujuan yang diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru memahami hakekat IPA dalam pembelajaran sains dan menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran IPA di kelas. Metode yang digunakan adalah presentase dan demo pembuatan preparat biologi berbahan sederhana. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh guru-guru IPA dan guru biologi se-kecamatan Mollo Utara sebanyak 18 orang pada 23 Juli 2025. Hasil kegiatan berupa perubahan pemahaman tentang pentingnya praktikum dalam pembelajaran IPA dan keterampilan melaksanakan praktikum dengan memanfaatkan bahan sederhana.

Abstract
The role of science teachers is crucial in achieving students’ scientific competence. This competence is closely related to how students learn in science classes. One effective learning approach that supports the development of this competence is through practical laboratory activities. These practical activities can be conducted effectively if teachers possess a strong command of basic laboratory skills, including microtechnical laboratory techniques. The objective of this community service activity was to help teachers understand the nature of science in science education and apply it in their classroom teaching. The method used involved presentations and demonstrations on how to prepare biology slides using simple materials. This activity was attended by 18 science and biology teachers from across the Mollo Utara sub-district on July 23, 2025. The outcomes of the activity included an improved understanding of the importance of practical work in science education and enhanced skills in conducting practicals using easily accessible materials.
