Abstract

Abstract

The literacy and numeracy development program for the children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) at Sanggar Belajar Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia, aims to address the limited access to formal education faced by TKI children, who often experience delays in mastering literacy and numeracy skills. Through interactive and contextual learning methods, along with the active involvement of educators and parents, this program has successfully improved the academic abilities of TKI children. Evaluation results show that 75% of the children improved their reading and writing skills, while 70% demonstrated a better understanding of basic mathematical concepts. Additionally, the program enhanced the children's learning motivation and participation in the learning process. This success underscores the importance of inclusive and community-based education in supporting the development of migrant children, though challenges related to resources and program sustainability remain. Recommendations for strengthening partnerships, diversifying learning materials, and increasing parental involvement are crucial to ensuring the program's continued positive impact.
