Upaya meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan penyakit ginjal kronis pada kelompok berisiko melalui edukasi kesehatan

Penyakit ginjal kronis (PGK) merupakan masalah kesehatan global yang dapat menimbulkan beban gejala bagi pasien. Saat ini, Sulawesi Utara menempati urutan ketiga tertinggi untuk prevalensi penyakit ginjal kronis di Indonesia. Peningkatan prevalensi tersebut disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjalani gaya hidup sehat dan meningkatnya kejadian penyakit yang menjadi faktor risiko. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat yang berisiko mengenai pencegahan PGK dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Wenang pada 31 Mei 2024 dan Puskesmas Teling Atas pada 7 Juni 2024 yang dihadiri oleh 44 peserta Prolanis. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank, nilai Z adalah -5,695 dan nilai-p adalah <0,001 (<0,05), yang berarti bahwa ada perbedaan pengetahuan peserta tentang PGK sebelum dan setelah menerima edukasi kesehatan. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa ada 42 nilai peringkat positif dan dua nilai yang sama, yang berarti bahwa 42 peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai PGK dan dua peserta memiliki pengetahuan yang sama setelah menerima edukasi kesehatan. Sebagai kesimpulan, pengetahuan peserta tentang pencegahan PGK menunjukkan peningkatan setelah mendapatkan edukasi kesehatan.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health problem that can cause symptoms burden for patients. Currently, North Sulawesi ranks third highest for the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Indonesia. The increase in prevalence is due to the lack of public awareness in living a healthy lifestyle and the increasing incidence of diseases that are risk factors. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out to increase the knowledge of people at risk regarding the prevention of CKD using lecture and discussion methods. This activity was carried out at Wenang Public Health Center on May 31, 2024 and Teling Atas Public Health Center on June 7, 2024, which were attended by 44 Prolanis participants. Based on the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, the Z value was -5.695 and the p-value was <0.001 (<0.05), which means that there was a difference in participants' knowledge about CKD before and after receiving health education. This also shows that there were 42 positive ranking values and two identical values, which means that 42 participants showed an increase in knowledge about CKD and two participants had the same knowledge after receiving health education. In conclusion, participants' knowledge about CKD prevention showed an increase after receiving health education.
