Abstract

The proper use of references is one of the essential skills for students in writing academic papers. However, many students still face difficulties in managing references systematically. To address this issue, an online Zotero training was organized by the Biology Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in February 2025. The training was attended by 75 students from the Biology Education Study Program at Universitas Tidar and aimed to equip them with more efficient reference management skills. The aspects assessed during the training included understanding of reference management, proficiency in using Zotero, and accuracy in formatting citations. Program evaluation was conducted by administering a pre-test and post-test to measure the effectiveness of the training. The results showed a significant improvement of 19.6% in students' understanding and skills after participating in the training.
