Implementasi teknologi lampu bertenaga laut ramah lingkungan untuk pemberdayaan berkelanjutan mitra nelayan Tanjung Ria

Kelompok nelayan di Kelurahan Tanjung Ria, Jayapura, menghadapi tantangan utama berupa tingginya biaya operasional, keterbatasan akses pasar, serta rendahnya pemanfaatan teknologi modern. Penggunaan lampu konvensional berbahan bakar minyak tidak hanya meningkatkan biaya hingga membebani ekonomi keluarga, tetapi juga berisiko terhadap keselamatan dan tidak ramah lingkungan. Program pengabdian ini menawarkan solusi berupa implementasi teknologi lampu bertenaga air laut berbasis sel elektrokimia dengan elektroda seng (Zn) dan tembaga (Cu), yang mampu menghasilkan tegangan stabil 5V untuk penerangan LED. Teknologi ini ramah lingkungan, hemat energi, mudah dioperasikan, dan dapat mengurangi biaya operasional hingga 40%. Selain itu, program meliputi pelatihan penggunaan lampu, optimalisasi operasi penangkapan melalui monitoring elektronik dan alat tangkap selektif, serta penguatan manajemen usaha dengan sistem pencatatan digital dan strategi pemasaran. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, hingga evaluasi partisipatif dengan melibatkan mitra secara aktif. Target capaian meliputi pemasangan 20 unit lampu, peningkatan hasil tangkapan 30%, efisiensi biaya operasional 40%, serta peningkatan literasi keuangan dan akses pasar nelayan. Implementasi program ini diharapkan memperkuat ketahanan ekonomi dan sosial nelayan, meningkatkan produktivitas, serta mendukung praktik perikanan berkelanjutan di wilayah pesisir.

Abstract
The fishing community in Tanjung Ria, Jayapura, faces major challenges including high operational costs, limited market access, and low adoption of modern technology. The use of conventional fuel-based lamps not only increases expenses and burdens household economies but also poses safety risks and is environmentally unfriendly. This community service program introduces an innovative solution through the implementation of seawater-powered lamps based on electrochemical cells with zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) electrodes, capable of generating a stable 5V output for LED lighting. This technology is environmentally friendly, energy efficient, easy to operate, and can reduce operational costs by up to 40%. The program also includes training on lamp operation, optimization of fishing activities through electronic monitoring and selective fishing gear, as well as strengthening business management with digital bookkeeping and marketing strategies. The implementation method covers socialization, training, mentoring, and participatory evaluation involving active engagement of the fisher group. Target achievements include the installation of 20 lamp units, a 30% increase in fish catch, 40% reduction in operational costs, and improved financial literacy and market access. The program is expected to strengthen the fishermen’s economic and social resilience, improve productivity, and promote sustainable fisheries practices in coastal areas.
