Optimalisasi gizi balita melalui edukasi penggunaan vitamin dan pemanfaatan daun moringa sebagai strategi pencegahan stunting

Stunting adalah gangguan pertumbuhan kronis yang disebabkan oleh malnutrisi jangka panjang yang mempengaruhi perkembangan kognitif, kekebalan, dan produktivitas anak-anak di usia dewasa, sehingga pencegahannya memerlukan intervensi gizi yang komprehensif. Kegiatan pelayanan masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu balita tentang pentingnya suplementasi vitamin dan penggunaan daun moringa sebagai sumber mikronutrien alami dalam mencegah stunting melalui pendidikan terstruktur di Pos Pelayanan Kesehatan Terpadu Semangka 2. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pemberian tes pra-edukasi, penyampaian materi edukasi, diskusi, dan pemberian tes pasca-edukasi kepada 25 peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam skor pengetahuan, dengan rata-rata skor pra-tes 83,48 meningkat menjadi 100 pada tes pasca-edukasi, dan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 16,52 persen. Semua peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman tentang manfaat vitamin A, C, dan D serta cara mengolah daun moringa sebagai tambahan nutrisi untuk balita. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan pendidikan pra-pasca efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi gizi dan mendukung praktik pemberian makan yang lebih baik, sehingga berpotensi memperkuat upaya pencegahan stunting berbasis komunitas.

Abstrak
Stunting is a chronic growth disorder caused by long-term malnutrition that affects children's cognitive development, immunity, and productivity in adulthood, so its prevention requires comprehensive nutritional intervention. This community service activity aimed to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about the importance of vitamin supplementation and the use of moringa leaves as a natural source of micronutrients in preventing stunting through structured education at the Semangka 2 Integrated Health Service Post. The methods used included administering a pre-test, delivering educational material, holding discussions, and administering a post-test to 25 participants. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge scores, with a pre-test average score of 83.48 increasing to 100 on the post-test, and an average increase of 16.52 percent. All participants experienced an increase in understanding of the benefits of vitamins A, C, and D and how to process moringa leaves as additional nutrition for toddlers. These findings confirm that the pre-post educational approach is effective in improving nutritional literacy and supporting better feeding practices, thereby potentially strengthening community-based stunting prevention efforts.
