Psikoedukasi berbasis nilai islam dan penguatan pemahaman kader kesehatan jiwa di komunitas pedesaan

Keterbatasan layanan kesehatan mental di wilayah pedesaan menuntut penguatan peran kader kesehatan jiwa sebagai aktor komunitas. Namun, kader masih menghadapi keterbatasan pemahaman dan tantangan stigma terhadap gangguan jiwa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat pemahaman kader melalui psikoedukasi berbasis nilai Islam di Kalurahan Getas, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Mitra kegiatan adalah kader kesehatan jiwa wilayah kerja UPT Puskesmas Playen II dengan 43 peserta, dan 27 data valid dianalisis. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan interaktif, diskusi reflektif, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rerata skor dari 11,26 (SD = 0,813) menjadi 11,56 (SD = 0,577). Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna (Z = −2,000; p = 0,046). Sebanyak 37% peserta mengalami peningkatan skor, 52% tetap, dan 11% menurun. Secara kualitatif, kader menunjukkan peningkatan refleksi terhadap komunikasi empatik, peran pendampingan, dan integrasi nilai religius dalam praktik lapangan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa psikoedukasi kontekstual tidak hanya meningkatkan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga memperkuat dimensi afektif kader sebagai agen perubahan dalam layanan kesehatan jiwa berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

Limited access to mental health services in rural areas highlights the strategic role of community mental health cadres. However, gaps in knowledge and persistent stigma remain significant challenges. This community service program aimed to strengthen cadres’ understanding through an Islamic values– based psychoeducation intervention in Getas Village, Gunungkidul Regency. The program involved 43 cadres affiliated with UPT Puskesmas Playen II, with 27 valid responses analyzed. The intervention consisted of interactive lectures, reflective discussions, and pre-test–post-test evaluation. Results indicated an increase in mean scores from 11.26 (SD = 0.813) to 11.56 (SD = 0.577). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test revealed a statistically significant difference (Z = −2.000; p = 0.046). Individually, 37% of participants improved, 52% remained stable, and 11% declined. Qualitative observations demonstrated enhanced reflective capacity regarding empathic communication, supportive roles, and integration of religious values in community-based mental health support. These findings suggest that culturally contextualized psychoeducation strengthens both cognitive and affective capacities of community cadres, reinforcing their function as frontline agents in rural mental health services.
