Program “Bukan Perfect, But Enough”: psikoedukasi berbasis self-compassion pada siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan
Abstract

Abstract
Adolescence is a developmental phase that is vulnerable to various psychosocial challenges due to the changes and developmental demands faced by individuals. These conditions lead to various psychological issues, such as feelings of loneliness, decreased motivation to learn, a tendency to avoid academic responsibilities, an excessive need for social validation, and difficulty in understanding and accepting oneself positively. Therefore, promotive and preventive efforts are needed to help adolescents develop more adaptive psychological capacities. One approach that can be used is self-compassion, which is an individual’s ability to be kind, understanding, and accepting of oneself when facing difficulties. The “Bukan Perfect, But Enough” program is a self-compassion-based psychoeducational activity conducted for ninth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Piyungan Junior High School. This activity aims to help students improve their emotional awareness, self-acceptance, and ability to cope with academic and social pressures. The program was conducted in a single three-hour session that included material presentation, self-reflection, practicing emotion recognition, writing a letter to oneself, affirmations through the “Tree of Hope,” as well as relaxation and mindfulness. Program evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-tests in the form of a self-compassion scale analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The evaluation results indicated a trend toward increased self-compassion scores among participants following the psychoeducational activity, although this change did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.159). These findings suggest that the program has potential as an initial form of psychological support for adolescents in a school setting. The self-compassion-based psychoeducation program has the potential to be developed sustainably through multiple sessions and integrated into school guidance and counseling services.
