Abstract

Abstract

This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the capacity of the LPPNU Tani Sejahtera farmer group in operating a digital sensor-based temperature monitoring system integrated with a forced aeration system for the organic fertilizer fermentation process in Duwet Village, Tumpang District, Malang Regency, Indonesia. The main challenge faced by the community partner was the conventional fermentation process, which lacked temperature monitoring and aeration control, resulting in suboptimal process management. The program was implemented using a participatory approach consisting of needs assessment, technology design and implementation, training, mentoring, and evaluation involving five participants through a questionnaire. The evaluation results showed that 100% of the participants stated that the implemented technology helped address production-related problems, while 60% agreed and 40% strongly agreed that the program improved their understanding and technical skills in operating the fermentation technology. These findings indicate that the implementation of appropriate technology, combined with participatory mentoring, effectively enhanced technology acceptance and strengthened the partners' capacity in managing the fermentation process.
