Premarital Guidance E-Module Training to Reduce Early Marriage Rates for Guidance and Counseling Teachers Throughout East Lombok Regency
Abstract
Early marriage remains a significant social problem among students in Lombok. Factors such as lack of education, the influence of social media, environmental pressure, and limited access to relevant premarital guidance services are contributing factors. Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers, as the frontline in providing character education and future planning services, need to be equipped with the competencies to provide premarital guidance that suits the needs of today's youth. The objective of this activity is to provide training to BK teachers who are members of the Guidance and Counseling Teachers Conference (MGBK) on the use of premarital guidance e-modules. With this training, BK teachers are expected to be able to integrate premarital guidance materials into BK services in schools more systematically and effectively. The e-module implementation uses classical guidance services, with the aim of positive collaboration between universities and school teachers. This training activity involved 12 vocational high schools (SMK) in East Lombok Regency. Based on pretest data, the average score was 78.83, and posttest data was 88.67, representing a 9.83% increase. This demonstrates an increase in teachers' understanding of the issue of early marriage and the urgency of basic services. This understanding encompasses not only awareness of the negative impacts of early marriage on students' psychological, social, and academic development, but also the strategic role of guidance and counseling teachers in providing targeted services.
