INISIASI PEMBUATAN FORMULASI PESTISIDA NABATI MENGGUNAKAN DRY SOLAR CHAMBER UNTUK MENGENDALIKAN HAMA DAN PENYAKIT RAMAH LINGKUNGAN

Abstract


Abstrak: Keberadaan organisme pengganggu tumbuhan masih menjadi kendala dalam kegiatan produksi pertanian di Desa Malangsari, Karawang. Penggunaan pestisida sintetis dalam mengendalikan hama dan penyakit menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi manusia dan lingkungan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan keahlian praktis pada kelompok tani dengan jumlah 12 orang di Desa Malangsari untuk mampu memanfaatkan tanaman potensial sebagai bahan baku pestisida nabati yang diolah menggunakan dry solar chamber. Metode yang dilakukan untuk kegiatan PkM diintegrasikan dengan kegiatan KKN Mahasiswa, berisi kegiatan analisis permasalahan dan potensi wilayah yang dilakukan secara purposive sampling pada petani, simulasi dan penyuluhan penggunaan dry solar chamber dan pembuatan formulasi tepung pestisida nabati, serta monitoring dan evaluasi dengan melakukan wawancara setelah dilakukannya kegiatan PkM. Hasil didapatkan jika penggunaan dry solar chamber mampu memerangkap energi panas dengan kisaran suhu 35,6° - 45,3° C dan mengefisiensikan proses pengeringan. Formulasi pestisida nabati yang dibuat memiliki kemampuan dalam mengendalikan serangga uji. Berdasarkan tingkat pemahaman petani, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dari 27% menjadi 100% dalam hal pengendalian OPT menggunakan pestisida nabati sebagai alternatif dari pestisida sintetik.

Abstract: The presence of plant pest organisms is still an obstacle in agricultural production activities in Desa Malangsari, Karawang. The use of synthetic pesticides in controlling pests and diseases has a negative impact on humans and the environment. The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge and practical skills to a group of 12 farmers in Desa Malangsari to be able to utilize potential plants as raw materials for vegetable pesticides processed using a dry solar chamber. The method carried out for PkM activities is integrated with Student Community Service activities, containing problem analysis activities and potential areas carried out by purposive sampling of farmers, simulation and counseling on the use of dry solar chambers and making vegetable pesticide flour formulations, as well as monitoring and evaluation by conducting interviews after PkM activities. The results obtained if the use of a dry solar chamber is able to trap heat energy with a temperature range of 35.6° - 45.3° C and streamline the drying process. The vegetable pesticide formulation made has the ability to control the test insects. Based on the level of understanding of farmers, there was an increase in understanding from 27% to 100% in terms of pest control using vegetable pesticides as an alternative to synthetic pesticides.
