PENERAPAN TEKNOLOGI BIOMASS DIGESTER REACTOR DENGAN FEEDBACK CONTROL SYSTEM UNTUK PEMBUATAN BIOGAS DARI KOTORAN SAPI DALAM MEWUJUDKAN SDG’S DESA

Abstract


Abstrak: Desa Tanah Wulan menghadapi masalah penumpukan kotoran sapi yang mencemari lingkungan dan berisiko terhadap kesehatan. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah memberdayakan masyarakat dengan meningkatkan keterampilan teknis (hardskill) dalam pengoperasian dan pemeliharaan teknologi Biomass Digester Reactor (BDR), serta pemahaman tentang manfaat biogas. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga bertujuan memperkuat softskill dalam kerja sama pengumpulan dan distribusi kotoran sapi melalui pembentukan kelompok kerja di tingkat RT atau dusun. Kegiatan melibatkan 6 mahasiswa Universitas Jember dan masyarakat setempat, dengan mitra Kelompok Ternak yang berjumlah 20 orang dan Pemerintah Desa yang berjumlah 10 orang. Evaluasi menunjukkan 70% anggota kelompok ternak mampu mengoperasikan reaktor dengan baik, sementara 30% masih kesulitan dalam pemeliharaan. Pemahaman masyarakat terhadap manfaat biogas meningkat sebesar 80%, namun 40% masih kesulitan dalam pengoperasian dan perawatan reaktor. Program ini memberikan manfaat ekonomi, dengan efisiensi energi dan penggunaan pupuk organik, namun memerlukan pelatihan berkelanjutan dan peningkatan kapasitas reaktor untuk mendukung keberlanjutan.

Abstract: Tanah Wulan Village faces the issue of accumulated cow manure that pollutes the environment and poses health risks. The aim of this community service project is to empower the community by enhancing their technical skills (hardskill) in operating and maintaining the Biomass Digester Reactor (BDR) technology, as well as increasing their understanding of the benefits of biogas. Additionally, this project aims to strengthen the community's soft skills in collaborating on the collection and distribution of cow manure through the formation of workgroups at the RT (neighborhood) or dusun (village) level. The activity involves 6 students from the University of Jember and local residents, with the Livestock Group and Village Government as partners. Evaluation shows that 70% of livestock group members can operate the reactor well, while 30% still face challenges in maintenance. The community's understanding of biogas benefits increased by 80%, but 40% still struggle with operation and maintenance. The program provides economic benefits through energy efficiency and organic fertilizer use, but requires ongoing training and reactor capacity improvements for sustainability.
