The Journal of Progressive Innovation Library Service (JPILS) encourages scholarly dialogue, critical evaluation, and the continuous improvement of knowledge in the fields of community engagement, library science, information science, and archival studies.
JPILS provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, practitioners, and other scholars to submit scholarly comments, critiques, or Letters to the Editor concerning articles previously published in the journal. Submissions should be directed to the JPILS Editorial Office through the official contact information provided on the journal website.
All submissions must present constructive, evidence-based, and professionally written academic discussion relevant to the published article. The Editorial Board will assess each submission for relevance, scholarly merit, originality, accuracy, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
When a submission raises substantive questions or criticisms regarding a published article, the original author(s) may be invited to provide a response or rebuttal. The original author(s) will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to the issues raised.
Following editorial evaluation, the commentary and the author's response may be published in a subsequent issue of JPILS or made available through the journal's online platform, as appropriate.
All post-publication discussions must comply with the principles of academic integrity, fairness, transparency, and respect for differing scholarly perspectives. Personal attacks, defamatory statements, unsupported allegations, and comments unrelated to the scholarly content of the article will not be considered for publication.
If a post-publication discussion identifies a potential error, ethical concern, or significant issue affecting the reliability of a published article, JPILS will evaluate the matter in accordance with its publication ethics and correction policies.
Through this policy, JPILS seeks to foster an open, constructive, and responsible scholarly environment that supports the development of knowledge and the improvement of community engagement and library and information services.
