Abstract

ABSTRACT

Household accidents and emergency conditions are common health risks in daily life; however, community preparedness, particularly among migrant communities, remains limited not only in terms of knowledge and practical skills but also in mental readiness for decision-making. This Community Service Program aimed to enhance emergency preparedness through an entrepreneurial mindset approach based on metacognition and self-efficacy. The program was conducted on April 11th, 2026, at PRIM Kepong, Malaysia, a community under the guidance of PCIM and PCIA Malaysia, involving 20 Indonesian migrant workers. The methods included educational sessions, practical training, simulations, and the strengthening of cognitive and psychological aspects. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test questionnaires using a Likert scale to measure knowledge, self-efficacy, metacognition, and entrepreneurial mindset. The results showed improvements in all aspects, namely knowledge (2.53 to 4.20), self-efficacy (2.59 to 4.06), metacognition (2.71 to 4.29), and entrepreneurial mindset (adaptive action) (2.59 to 4.13). These findings indicate that integrating technical training with cognitive and psychological reinforcement can bridge the gap between thinking ability and readiness to act in emergency situations. This training model offers an innovative approach that not only improves practical competencies but also promotes adaptive and sustainable preparedness among vulnerable communities.
