Types of Manuscript

The Journal of Community Empowerment  accepts scientific manuscripts that present the results of community service activities that have been carried out systematically, have clear objectives, are relevant to the needs of partners, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and health practices.

Submitted manuscripts must describe the problems faced by partners, the methods or interventions applied, the results or achievements of the activities, and a discussion of the program’s benefits and sustainability. Each manuscript must align with the focus and scope of Journal of Community empowerment and comply with applicable writing guidelines and publication ethics.

Journal of Community Empowerment accepts the following types of manuscripts.

1. Community Service Articles

Articles reporting the results of community service activities based on the actual needs of partners or target groups. Activities may include health education, health promotion, outreach, training, mentoring, empowerment, or other interventions relevant to the field of health.

Manuscripts must describe the partners’ baseline conditions, the objectives of the activities, implementation methods, intervention stages, outcomes achieved, and the benefits of the activities for the community.

2. Community Empowerment and Assistance Articles

Articles that discuss community empowerment or assistance activities aimed at improving the community’s knowledge, skills, independence, capacity, or ability to address health issues. Manuscripts should describe the empowerment strategies, partner participation, changes in capacity achieved, and opportunities for program sustainability after the activity concludes.

3. Articles on the Implementation of Science and Technology

Articles reporting on the application of science, appropriate technology, innovations, educational media, or assistive devices to address community problems, particularly in the field of health. Manuscripts must outline the rationale for selecting the technology or innovation, the implementation process, partner involvement, outcomes of utilization, as well as the benefits and limitations of its application.

4. Research-Based Community Service Articles

Articles presenting community service activities based on research findings, scientific evidence, or evidence-based practices applied to address partners’ needs. Manuscripts must explain the relationship between research findings and community service interventions, the methods used to apply research findings, the evaluation of activities, and the benefits of applying this knowledge to the community.

This type of article must emphasize the implementation process and the impact of community service activities, rather than merely presenting research findings without implementation in the community.

5. Community Service Program Evaluation Articles

Articles that evaluate the implementation or achievements of a community service program using evaluation methods appropriate to the activity’s objectives.

Evaluations may include changes in knowledge, skills, behavior, participation, utilization of health services, or other relevant indicators. Manuscripts must explain the evaluation indicators, instruments or data sources, analysis methods, evaluation results, as well as recommendations for program improvement and sustainability.

6. Best Practice and Community Service Case Study Articles

Articles that document experiences, approaches, or best practices in the implementation of community service activities that offer valuable lessons and have the potential to be applied in other contexts. Manuscripts must describe the problem context, partner characteristics, the approach used, the implementation process, results or achievements, supporting factors, constraints, and lessons learned for the development of similar programs. Case studies must present a systematic description and adequate analysis, rather than merely documenting activities.

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Community Empowerment must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be relevant to the focus and scope of Journal of Community Empowerment, particularly community service in the field of health and related fields.
  2. Describe activities that have been carried out and have clear objectives and methods.
  3. Explain the partner’s problems, the form of intervention or solution, and the factual results or achievements of the activities.
  4. Include an evaluation or evidence of achievements consistent with the activity’s objectives.
  5. Use relevant scientific references to support the basis of the activities and discussion.
  6. Comply with ethical requirements, including participant privacy protection, necessary consent, and ethical approval where required.
  7. List the authors’ contributions, funding sources, conflicts of interest, use of AI, and data availability in accordance with Journal of Community Empowerment policies.
  8. Follow Journal of Community Empowerment latest template and writing guidelines.

Manuscripts Not Prioritized for Acceptance

Journal of Community Empowerment does not prioritize manuscripts that consist solely of activity proposals, program plans that have not yet been implemented, administrative reports lacking scientific analysis, activity documentation without an evaluation of results, or purely research articles that do not demonstrate application or contributions to community service.

All manuscripts will undergo editorial screening and a peer-review process in accordance with the journal’s policies. The determination of suitability for publication is based on scope appropriateness, originality, scientific quality, clarity of methods, relevance of results, contribution to society, and adherence to publication ethics.
