Abstract
The increase in life expectancy in Indonesia has led to a growing elderly population that requires integrated interventions in health and economic aspects. This community service program aimed to: (1) improve knowledge and practices of balanced nutrition, (2) enhance understanding of mental health and stress management, and (3) encourage economic independence among the elderly. The activity was conducted in May 2025 at Antiga Kelod Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency, involving 45 elderly participants, Posyandu Lansia cadres, BKL, and village authorities. Empowerment methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, elderly exercise demonstrations, and health screenings by medical personnel. Evaluation was carried out through pre–post measurement of participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices using descriptive analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in nutrition and health understanding; prior to the program, 53% of participants did not understand the materials, while after the CIE session 89% became understand to highly understand. As many as 95.5% of participants were able to practice light exercise for stress management, and more than 80% expressed motivation to engage in home-based productive economic activities.
