Pelatihan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui produksi teh daun mangrove sebagai minuman herbal bernilai ekonomi di UPTD Kebun Raya Mangrove Surabaya

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di UPTD Kebun Raya Mangrove Surabaya dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemanfaatan daun mangrove sebagai bahan baku teh herbal bernilai ekonomi. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, dan praktik langsung kepada masyarakat pesisir. Materi yang diberikan meliputi teknik pengolahan dan pemasaran digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang signifikan, ditunjukkan dari peningkatan jawaban “Ya” sebesar 28% pada pre-test menjadi 93% pada post-test. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang usaha baru serta meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap konservasi lingkungan. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam penguatan ekonomi lokal dan pelestarian ekosistem mangrove.

Abstract
This community service activity was conducted at the Mangrove Botanical Garden UPTD Surabaya to enhance the utilization of mangrove leaves as raw materials for herbal tea with economic value. The activity involved training, mentoring, and hands-on practice for coastal communities, covering processing techniques and digital marketing strategies. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, indicated by the rise in “Yes” responses from 28% in the pre-test to 93% in the post-test. This demonstrates that the training was effective in improving knowledge and skills. In addition, the activity created new business opportunities and increased awareness of environmental conservation. Therefore, this activity contributes to strengthening the local economy and supporting sustainable mangrove ecosystem preservation.
