Edukasi SEHATI (Sehatkan Masyarakat, Hindari dan Atasi Hipertensi) berbasis herbal pada lansia di Dusun Montong Kelor
Abstract

Abstract
Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases commonly experienced by the elderly and is at risk of causing serious complications if not well managed. The low level of public knowledge regarding the prevention and management of hypertension, including the use of traditional herbs, is one of the factors affecting blood pressure control. Community service activities thru SEHATI Education (Healthy Community, Avoid and Overcome Hypertension) based on herbal remedies aim to increase the knowledge and awareness of the elderly regarding hypertension. The activity was conducted on May 7, 2026, in Dusun Montong Kelor, Desa Montong Terep, Kecamatan Praya, Lombok Tengah, involving 35 elderly participants. The methods of the activity included field observation, identification of partner problems and needs, senior citizen exercise, blood pressure checks, health education on hypertension and antihypertensive herbal medicine, as well as a demonstration of processing temulawak decoction as a herbal drink to lower blood pressure. The results of the activities show that participants followed the entire series of activities with enthusiasm and were active in both the education and demonstration sessions. The provision of health education has proven to increase the community's knowledge about hypertension, healthy lifestyles, and the use of traditional herbs as supportive therapy for blood pressure control. The demonstration of temulawak processing also helps participants understand how to make herbal drinks that can be independently applied at home. The SEHATI Education Program is expected to be a promotive and preventive effort in improving the health status of the elderly and encouraging community independence in maintaining health.
