Peningkatan perilaku pengendalian konsumsi garam remaja melalui monitoring kartu kendali pada program KALIPURO CERAH

Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular yang prevalensinya terus meningkat dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor risiko, termasuk konsumsi garam berlebih. Hasil identifikasi awal pada siswa anggota Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) SMPN 02 Kalipuro menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan pemahaman mengenai hipertensi serta pemantauan perilaku konsumsi garam sebagai upaya pencegahan sejak dini. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi mengenai hipertensi dan konsumsi garam serta memantau perilaku konsumsi garam harian melalui instrumen Kartu Kendali dalam program KALIPURO CERAH (Cerdas Remaja Lawan Hipertensi). Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMPN 02 Kalipuro, Kecamatan Kalipuro, Kabupaten Banyuwangi selama empat minggu pada Januari hingga Februari 2026, dengan melibatkan 31 siswa Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) kelas VII dan VIII. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif evaluatif berbasis self-monitoring yang terdiri atas tahap persiapan, edukasi, monitoring Kartu Kendali, dan evaluasi. Edukasi diberikan pada minggu pertama, sedangkan monitoring dilakukan selama tiga minggu berikutnya. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kartu monitoring mandiri yang diisi peserta dan kartu monitoring eksternal yang diisi oleh tim PKL. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta mampu mengisi Kartu Kendali secara mandiri setelah diberikan edukasi dan simulasi pengisian. Rekapitulasi hasil monitoring menunjukkan bahwa 45,16% peserta berada pada kategori baik, 16,13% kategori cukup, dan 38,71% kategori kurang dalam pemantauan konsumsi garam. Selain itu, hasil pemantauan menunjukkan adanya perubahan pola konsumsi makanan tinggi garam pada sebagian peserta selama periode monitoring. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa Kartu Kendali dapat digunakan sebagai media self-monitoring untuk memantau perilaku konsumsi garam remaja di lingkungan sekolah. g

Abstract
Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases whose prevalence continues to increase and is influenced by various risk factors, including excessive salt consumption. Preliminary identification among members of the Youth Red Cross (PMR) at SMPN 02 Kalipuro indicated the need to improve students’ understanding of hypertension and to monitor salt consumption behavior as an early preventive effort. This community service activity was conducted as part of a Field Practice Program (PKL) and aimed to provide education on hypertension and salt consumption while monitoring daily salt intake behavior using the Kartu Kendali instrument within the KALIPURO CERAH (Smart Adolescents Against Hypertension) program. The activity was carried out at SMPN 02 Kalipuro, Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency, over a four-week period from January to February 2026 and involved 31 PMR students from grades VII and VIII. A descriptive evaluative approach based on self-monitoring was employed, consisting of preparation, educational sessions, Kartu Kendali monitoring, and evaluation stages. Education was provided during the first week, followed by a three-week monitoring period. The instruments used included a self-monitoring card completed by participants and an external monitoring card completed by the PKL team. The results showed that all participants were able to complete the Kartu Kendali independently after receiving education and completion guidance. Monitoring results indicated that 45.16% of participants were categorized as good, 16.13% as moderate, and 38.71% as poor in terms of salt consumption monitoring. In addition, monitoring records demonstrated changes in high-salt food consumption patterns among some participants during the observation period. These findings indicate that the Kartu Kendali can be used as a self-monitoring tool to monitor adolescents’ salt consumption behavior in the school setting.
