Pelatihan penguatan numerasi dengan menggunakan konteks kearifan lokal Sumatera Selatan

Numerasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan esensial yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran matematika karena berkaitan langsung dengan cara siswa memahami dan menggunakan informasi kuantitatif dalam kehidupan nyata. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi guru SMP melalui pembelajaran berbasis konteks kearifan lokal Sumatera Selatan. Penguatan numerasi menjadi kebutuhan penting dalam mendukung capaian pembelajaran pada Kurikulum Berdampak yang menekankan pembelajaran bermakna, relevan,  dan kontekstual. Berdasarkan hasil diskusi awal dengan guru matematika di Desa Meranjat, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, ditemukan bahwa guru masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengintegrasikan konteks budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran matematika, mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis kearifan lokal, serta memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mendukung pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 33 guru matematika SMP di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir dan dilaksanakan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan literasi numerasi, pelatihan penggunaan teknologi, pendampingan implementasi LKPD, serta evaluasi program. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest-posttest, angket respon guru, dan dokumentasi produk. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pemahaman numerasi dari 60.50 menjadi 90.13 dengan N-Gain 0.75 dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, guru berhasil menyusun tujuh LKPD digital berbasis kearifan lokal, seperti motif songket Palembang, struktur rumah limas, dan aktivitas gotong royong masyarakat Meranjat yang dikenal sebagai Caram Seguguk. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kompetensi profesional guru dan pelestarian budaya lokal.

Abstract

Numeracy is one of the essential competencies that needs to be developed in mathematics education because it is directly related to how students understand and use quantitative information in real-life situations. This community service program aimed to improve junior high school mathematics teachers’ numeracy competencies through learning based on the local wisdom of South Sumatra. Strengthening numeracy is important for supporting the learning outcomes of the Impactful Curriculum, which emphasizes meaningful, relevant, and contextual learning. Based on preliminary discussions with mathematics teachers in Meranjat Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, it was found that teachers still experienced difficulties in integrating local cultural contexts into mathematics instruction, developing student worksheets based on local wisdom, and utilizing technology to support learning. The program involved 33 junior high school mathematics teachers in Ogan Ilir Regency and was conducted through five stages: socialization, numeracy literacy training, technology-use training, assistance in implementing student worksheets, and program evaluation. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, teacher response questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed an increase in the average numeracy comprehension score from 60.50 to 90.13, with an N-Gain score of 0.75, categorized as high. In addition, the teachers successfully developed seven digital student worksheets based on local wisdom, incorporating contexts such as Palembang songket motifs, the structure of traditional limas houses, and the communal cooperation activities of the Meranjat community known as Caram Seguguk. This program contributed to improving teachers’ professional competencies and preserving local culture.
