Edukasi penggunaan antibiotik yang bijak untuk pencegahan resistensi di Kelurahan Bumi Waras Kota Bandar Lampung

Penggunaan antibiotik yang semakin luas di masyarakat perlu diimbangi dengan pemahaman yang baik mengenai fungsi dan aturan pakai yang bijak dalam penggunaannya. Rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai penggunaan antibiotik yang bijak dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya resistensi antibiotik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Kelurahan Bumi Waras, Kota Bandar Lampung bekerja sama dengan program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Berdampak Universitas Lampung Tahun 2026 bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi secara langsung kepada ibu-ibu kader Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) terkait penggunaan antibiotik yang bijak serta bahaya resistensi antibiotik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode edukasi secara langsung melalui media seperti slide presentasi, flyer, dan poster. Evaluasi keberhasilan edukasi dilakukan melalui pengisian kuesioner dengan pendekatan one-group pretest–posttest. Analisis statistik dilakukan pada hasil pengisian kuesioner untuk melihat ada tidaknya perubahan pemahaman peserta sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 25 orang ibu-ibu kader PKK dengan hasil pretest menunjukkan rata-rata nilai peserta 82,80±11,37 sedangkan rata-rata nilai posttest meningkat menjadi 95,60±7,11. Hasil uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed-Rank menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta yang signifikan (p < 0,05) dari pemberian edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat menjadi salah satu strategi upaya promotif terkait penggunaan antibiotik yang bijak guna mendukung upaya pencegahan resistensi antibiotik di masyarakat.

Abstract
The increasingly widespread use of antibiotics in the community needs to be balanced with a good understanding of their function and wise usage rules. Low public understanding of the wise use of antibiotics can increase the risk of antibiotic resistance. Community service activities in Bumi Waras Village, Bandar Lampung City in collaboration with the University of Lampung's 2026 Impactful Community Service Program (KKN) aimed to provide direct education to women cadres of the Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) regarding the wise use of antibiotics and the dangers of antibiotic resistance. This service activity was carried out using direct educational methods through media such as presentation slides, flyers, and posters. Evaluation of the success of the education was carried out by filling out a questionnaire with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. Statistical analysis was conducted on the results of the questionnaire to see whether there were changes in participants' understanding before and after the education. This service activity was attended by 25 women cadres of the PKK with pretest results showing an average score of 82.80±11.37 while the average posttest score increased to 95.60±7.11. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test results showed a significant increase (p < 0.05) in participants' knowledge and understanding as a result of the education provided. This community service activity can be a promotional strategy for the wise use of antibiotics to support efforts to prevent antibiotic resistance in the community.
