Pemberdayaan lansia melalui implementasi program active aging di Rw 04 Kelurahan Kasin Kecamatan Klojen Kota Malang
Abstract

Abstract
The growing elderly population demands strengthening promotive strategies to support the implementation of active aging to improve the quality of life, independence, and social engagement of the elderly. One approach considered effective is education combined with community-based simulations to improve health literacy. This activity aims to improve the level of knowledge and skills of the elderly in implementing active aging principles through a learning process and direct practice. The empowerment approach is carried out in a participatory manner through group discussions, two-way dialogues, focus group discussions (FGDs), demonstrations, and systematic delivery of materials to encourage active participant participation. The activity evaluation used a pre-test and post-test design on 20 elderly individuals. The intervention included materials on physical activity, cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and psychological support, followed by simulations of application in daily life. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed an increase in knowledge levels after the intervention, with an average score increasing by 24.77%, indicating significant improvement. The implication of this activity is that an educational approach combined with direct practice can effectively improve the understanding of the elderly. In addition, the use of participatory methods makes the learning process more interactive, easy to understand, and relevant to the needs of the participants. The integration of education and practice also has the potential to drive tangible changes in health behavior. Therefore, this program is recommended for wider implementation as a community-level promotive and preventive effort to support healthy, independent, and productive older adults.
